Exclude old posts

I tried setting the “Custom time period” field for the widget but this is not what I am after.

The custom time period seems to me that it’s referring to the period in which a post is being viewed, so this is an option to exclude views that were generated outside the period.

In my case, I want to exclude posts that were created outside the period.

In other words, I want to exclude old posts, even though these posts may still be getting many views recently.

Hope my explanation is clear.

Is there a way to achieve this?
