Still getting 500 Server Error with new package – from my perspective, still not compatible with WordPress 2.6.
Have you tried removing the mod rewrite rules? That will effectively switch off the supercache but I don’t think php itself can create error 500’s.
Did anything show up in your error logs? Apache and PHP? It works fine for me with WordPress 2.6.
I just wiped .htaccess clean and re-installed the plugin. The behaviour I get is as follows:
Only the top bar of the Dashboard appears after activation. If I click out to Visit Site, then click Site Admin, I get a 500 Site Error.
It could be, presumably, that Super Cache doesn’t play nicely with the other plugins I have – these are as follows:
Akismet
Amazon Machine Tags
Bad Behavior
Easy Tube
Google XML Sitemaps
Simple:Press Forum
SimplePie Core
SociBook
Ultimate Google Analytics
WordPress.com Stats
WP-o-Matic
However, removing Super Cache eliminates all problems with the functioning of the site – just it’s a bit slower. Super Cache did work for me, with all these plugins and the previous version of WordPress and Super Cache: its operation, however, was somewhat cranky.
WP-Super-Cache works fine for me with 2.6. I’ve been using it all along through the 2.6 betas and release candidates, and I just checked with the final and it’s still working.
Resolved:
WP-Super-Cache doesn’t work with the following two plugins:
SimplePie Core
WP-o-Matic
Without these two, it runs fine.
I got ‘500 Internal Server Error’
