    Hi Li-An,

I’m not sure I understand the issue you’re encountering, can you elaborate on exactly what you’re trying to do and what’s not working?

I’ve tried entering tab for the “Hotkey to close hover menu” input, and it seems to work just fine for me (WP 3.9). Based on your question, this was the issue I imagined you were facing, but now I’m guessing not. If you can give me some more details I’ll do my best to get to the bottom of this. Thanks!

Sorry, I may be wrong. I thought it was tab what gives the ability to use the Hotkeys if you are in a text field… -damn, my English is so poor.

Ah, I see. The hotkeys will only work when focus is not in on one of the following elements: input, button, select, or textarea. So tabbing can work if you use it to move focus out of one of those elements and onto something else, which is how the tab key works in most browsers. Let me know if you have any other questions and I’ll be glad to help.

And your English is great! No worries there 🙂

What do you call focus exactly ? And can you explain me – again, sorry – how to go back to admin menu with hotkeys when you are in edit page ?

    Hi again Li-An,

So “focus” just basically means when the cursor is inside something. For example, when you put the mouse in a text field to type, you don’t want the hotkeys firing because then you simply won’t be able to use all the letters you need to type. So the hotkeys only work when the plugin senses that you are not typing, in other words when your cursor isn’t inside an input, button, select, or textarea. So if you are typing in a textarea, on a new post for instance, you’ll have to do one of two things to use the hotkeys:

    1. Manually click outside the textarea with your mouse.
    2. Hit the tab key until “focus” is no longer on one of the above listed 4 elements.

    Make sense?

Let me know if you have any other questions, and I strongly suggest watching the intro video if you’re still confused.

    All the best,
    Mickey

OK. It’s just the click left outside I did not get. Maybe you should add this in FAQ.
