Sadly I updated. Now I can’t size the font and when I create a link to another website I have lost my advanced tab to make that link no follow easily. Can I get rid of this update and go back one step?

I just got onto my other website where I did the update, there are even less options for writing a post. Please tell me how I can lose this update and go back to 3.8!!

You can get rid of it by downloading 3.8.3 and copying the files over the ones you have now… BUT

    Have you tried:

    • flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or browser caches.
    • deactivating all plugins (yes, all) to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s). If you can’t get into your admin dashboard, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin (read “How to deactivate all plugins when you can’t log in to wp-admin” if you need help). Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems. Also remember to deactivate any plugins in the mu-plugins folder. The easiest way is to rename that folder to mu-plugins-old
    • switching to the Twenty Fourteen theme to rule out any theme-specific problems. If you can’t log in to change themes, you can remove the theme folders via FTP so the only one is twenty fourteen. That will force your site to use it.
    • manually upgrading. When all else fails, download a fresh copy of the latest.zip file of 3.5 (top right on this page) to your computer, and use that to copy up. You may need to delete the wp-admin and wp-includes folders on your server. Read the Manual Update directions first.

Sheesh. I don’t think reloading 3.8 is a good option for me I’ll break something for sure. My biggest pet peeve with this update is that I can’t size the font now. That’s pretty buggy. And I don’t have the option when linking to another website to easily ad a nofollow. But really…no option for sizing the font?????

TinyMCE (which WP uses) was upgraded that that’s where the change came in. You’ll need this plugin to restore it: https://wordpress.org/plugins/tinymce-advanced/
