Usual way for hierarhical listing of custom taxonomy terms list in a sidebar?

    Hey guys, what’s your usual way of listing custom taxonomy terms list in a sidebar of the related custom post type pages?

    What I usually do is create a custom sidebar for that custom post type, for example sidebar-books.php, where I put code manually like this http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/wp_list_categories#Display_Terms_in_a_custom_taxonomy.

    Is this how you do it or are there other ways? What I would like to do is create widgets for all custom taxonomies but I’m still not that advanced Any tips?
