    Hello,

just wanted to report a bug:

I have just added the image button to the editor rows in the settings but when editing a post or page it is simply not there. I tried different positions in the editor row all with the same result. The button is simply not showing up at all.

As the original edit image screen of WP 3.9 is missing some very usefull options like “border” or “margin” it would be great to know what the image editor of wp edit is capable of and when it will be fixed!

    Thank you very much!

    Hi, and thank you!

Does the button open a popup window?

    I’ll look into this tonight.

    Thanks for catching!

    Thanks for your quick reply!

When adding it to editor row in the settings menu you get the “saving options to database” message but as mentioned above it’s simply not there when you want to create or edit a post / page.

    Great. Thank you.

So, not even a placeholder for the button appears in the editor? Like, if you put it between two buttons you know work.. then go to the editor… can you see a “spot” where the image button should be?

No there is simply nothing there.

There is no other plugin active on the site except WordPress SEO.

    Awesome Awesome Awesome!!
Thank you very much for your time.

Okay.. I’ll get on it tonight.. and plan an update for tonight or tomorrow.

Please.. follow up with me here in 24 hours if I have not posted back. It’s easy for me to get overwhelmed and sidetracked during this transitional process 😉

    Talk to you in 24!

    Okay…

The button is not loading in the editor.. this is confirmed. I don’t know what WP has done differently in this release, but I have created a trac ticket here:
    https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/27904

However, if I change the naming convention, I can get the default tinymce image button to work.

But… it is a very minimalistic version of the older image insertion button. I know everyone will assume I’ve removed functionality.. but this is simply not true.

You can see how the button now works, by viewing the default tinymce editor on their website (it is the button on the far right of the editor):
    http://www.tinymce.com/

So.. I’ve added the button… but it appears it will require some custom work to get it back to how it was before. Almost the same as with every other editor button.

What are some of the features of the old button you would like to see included with this button?

Thanks a lot for your effort.
“Margin” (seperate for all 4 directions if possible) and “border” would be great. Both are missing in the new standard image editor that pops up when left clicking on an image in the conent.

    Looking forward to next patch!

Nah… plenty of time to sleep when I’m dead 😉

We’ll have to work on it to get it into something more desirable… I’ll work on it some more tomorrow.

    Just updated to 1.6.
I had to reset the buttons to default and then drag the image button back into editor row but the button is showin in editor now and working! Well done!
