Bulk Delete Custom Categories

Hey Guys,

I’ve got a bit of an issue and was hoping someone could advise me the best method to fix it.

To explain how I got into this situation would be a pretty long post. So I’m just going to get right down to the issue.

We have a custom taxonomy with 15,000 categories, The category page doesn’t have a check box next to it to bulk select the categories to delete them. so I’ve looked in phpMyadmin and I’m seeing quite a few different structures with the same amount of rows. So I’m not 100% on which one to delete without affecting anything else on the site.
these categories are empty and we don’t need them.

We’ve tried to find a plugin to delete them but the only plugins we could find are those which only let you delete categories with things in them. eg a post is linked to that category.

Basically I’d like to mass delete all 15,000 categories from the custom taxonomy.

Does anyone know the best way to do this?
