WordPress 3.9 nginx iThemes Security 4.0.23 = broken

    Only broken with nginx, my other website, which is based on Apache2, seems fine. I must remove all nginx rules generated by iThemes Security, restart nginx, then WordPress 3.9 back to normal.

    Cannot switch from Visual to Text mode, cannot dropdown options below post, cannot change/remove featured image.

    Please help.

    update: seems this line caused the error

    if ($args ~* "(request|select(?!ed)|insert|concat|union|declare)") { set $susquery 1; }
