Hopefully this is just something wrong with my WP environment but I wanted to make the developer aware and document it here if it’s a problem for others too.

This plugin was working great for me until 10 minutes ago when I upgraded my WP to 3.9 and the icon in the Dashboard for Simple Short Codes completely disappeared and cannot be found, cannot be used. I deactivated and removed the plugin and files and re-installed SSC v.0.2 with no luck. I have used this plugin on other sites and seriously hope that all those sites won’t be calling me with problems when they auto-upgrade… zoiks!

Fantastic plugin though before this little hiccup!

It still works, It’s just the button does not show up. There’s something a little bit strange going on with the WordPress toolbar. I’m hoping this will be fixed with the next WP update.

second this on not working through the wp-admin… hope they’ll fix this soon because they also pack the plugin with their themes…

Had the same problem on WP 3.9. I’ve just downloaded simple shortodes 1.0.8 and it works now. The button is visible!

I just downloaded latest version from:

    http://www.wpexplorer.com/symple-shortcodes/

and the icon appeared in WP 3.9

I have WP 3.9.1 and have downloaded Symple 1.6 from the developer’s website, but the button still does not show in my page editor.

    Before installing 1.6 I uninstalled 1.4.

I have the Gist Github Shortcode plugin, and that button does appear correctly. Deactiviating the Gist plugin did not fix the Symple problem either.

Given solution does not fix the issue with WP 4.0, button not visable so the plugin cannot be used. Where is the developer?
