Thanks so much for pointing that out! It’s not just you–the code for showing Featured Images on the Single post pages was accidentally removed several revisions back when I was updating some code.
I’ve re-added the necessary code and the next theme update will include this fix. You can follow this GitHub issue for further updates: https://github.com/raamdev/independent-publisher/issues/90
This has been fixed in the latest release (v1.5), which is now live on WordPress.org.
Bug Fix: Added missing Featured Image support from Single posts. This was accidentally removed in an earlier update. If you have a featured image, and you’re not using it as the Post Cover, it will now properly appear at the top of the post

I’ve had the same problem. I’ve downloaded and installed the theme from fresh a couple of days ago and the image appears everywhere but on single posts. I’ve checked the code from your fix and they match and used different browsers (using Opera primarily) and its the same result. Is there an option where I switch it on?

How are you selecting your featured image? Can you give me a screenshot? This is working for me and I’m unable to reproduce the issue you’re describing.

Thanks so much for getting back to me. I used the Header image in order to display an image as avatar, which is displayed on the homepage.
When I use a single post, the avatar is not displayed. I’ve played around a bit with different users and feature images but I couldn’t get it working. If you could send me your email address, than i can send you the login details (if you don’t mind).

The single post pages use the post author avatar. WordPress uses Gravatar to link avatars to email addresses, so whatever gravatar you have selected for the author email address is what will show up on the single post pages.
Hello Raam, I am new to this as I just set up my blog a couple days ago. Please forgive me if I am posting in the wrong area.
I am having the same problem. I set the featured image in my blog post but when I click on the title, the picture does not show.
I know it says this issue is resolved but I would really like your help.

Also, when I upload a featured image, I don’t have the option to center it. Why is that? Is it because of my theme? It always goes to the left unless it’s a large picture.
