    Hello all,

At the moment I am trying to understand and learn WP so I can get the hang of it and see if I can build my own website with WP.

In order to mess around with it I have followed the tutorial on the following website to install WP on my own laptop using XAMP.

    https://managewp.com/how-to-create-a-local-wordpress-website-in-windows-with-xampp

Installing XAMP etc was easy but during the actual instalation of WP the screen froze for a while. I carried on with the steps in the tutorial and after I even got to the logon screen of WP so it all seemed fine. After several attempts to login it just didnt work.

Then after a while I didnt get the WP login screen anymore at all.

When I now go to: http://localhost/mytestsite/ I get the following:

    Index of /mytestsite
    Name Last modified Size Description

    ——————————————————————————–

    Parent Directory –
    wordpress/ 2013-09-25 00:18 –

    ——————————————————————————–

    Apache/2.4.7 (Win32) OpenSSL/1.0.1e PHP/5.5.9 Server at localhost Port 80

When I go to: http://localhost/mytestsite/wordpress/ I get another screen that says:

    My Site
    Just another WordPress site

    Nothing Found

I really have no experience with servers like XAMP or WP. Does anybody have a clue what I can do to help this or start over? I checked if I could deinstall WP but it is not listed under software on the control panel.

I am a bit stuck at the moment so any help or tips are much appreciated!

    Thank you all!
