Hi jaydub12, what do you mean by?

there is also no option to submit a new sitemap. can this be added? or is there another way to do this?

I just updated all of my websites to the latest version without a problem.

Once I updated my websites I went to Google Webmasters tools to also verify there the new sitemap and I also went to Bing to also verify the new sitemap.

    All went smooth and well.

    Kind regards

There was no problem with the update what I am looking for is, in the old version there was an option to submit sitemap and re-submit sitemap, just in case you were re-themeing a site. This option is no longer there.

Hi, I guess with the new version there is no need for that option anymore. You can always save the settings and that should resubmit the sitemap to Google and Bing.

You can also read this from the FAQ

Do I have to resubmit my sitemap every time I change it?

Google will check your sitemap for updates regularly, so you don’t need to inform them. However, you can resubmit your sitemap by clicking the “Resubmit” button on the Google Sitemaps Site Overview (Google Account required) or by pointing your browser to http://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/ping?sitemap=http://www.name.com/sitemap.xml
If you are using a program to generate your sitemap it’s likely that there is an option to notify Google about changes automatically.

    Kind regards

This FAQ is from 2005. that is what I am talking about for “Resubmit” button. there is not a “Resubmit” button.

Hi Redline SEO Services, yes I agree with you that it is a 2005 FAQ, however you can also resubmit the sitemap by following the next instructions….

or by pointing your browser to http://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/ping?sitemap=http://www.name.com/sitemap.xml

Let me know if this helps you.

There is actually a rebuild option link, under the ‘debug’ area right at the bottom, you can use for recreate it from scratch. Note, now the ‘sitemap.xml’ isn’t static but rather dynamically constructed via multiple sitemaps on the fly, so most people won’t need to rebuild unless doing something major and in a hurry to fix.

Ping out as mentioned above by mbrsolution, once it’s correctly constructed.

After doing what 3Laner suggested (which worked) my sitemap was created. But is there anyway to get the updates to happen more often? this seems like it would take way to long. Or does it automatically update when changes are made to the pages?
