    Hi all…Having a little bit of a frustrating issue. One of my WordPress based websites is having intermittent problems of pages not loading (it does not load more often than it does). The error I get from various browsers are:

    Firefox:

    The connection was reset
    The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

    Chrome:

    No data received
    Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data.
    Error code: ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

    Internet Explorer:

    This page can’t be displayed

    I am running WP 3.8.2 and the site is http://livingroomraceway.com/. I am using the Twenty Fourteen theme. I have a number of plugins installed but I have de-activated all of them but I still have the problem. I have also tried switching to the Twenty Thirteen theme and the same issue occurs. The back-end works fine just the front end has the issue.

    I took it up with the hosting company first and the key section from their response was:

    I’ve checked the server along with the Apache service and currently see no issues. The server log does not have any entries indicating that your site’s processes were killed for excessive resource usage. However, I do noticed that your site doesn’t have a caching system and I advise to install one to help speed up the page and reduce sources used from the traffic.

    I tried installing Quick Cache but that didn’t help.

    Their general help also indicated that I should try uploading a basic HTML file to the website’s root as a test. I did this and it workd perfectly so I guess that points to WP or something in my install.

    Note that I also have 3 other WP based websites with the webhost, all with 3.8.2, similar plugins and different themes and this is the only site that has a problem.

    So, where to next? What should I do or try?

    My hosting company has moved me to ‘a quieter part of the server’ and this seems to have resolved the issue.
