   I know this has been discussed several times before. But, I've tried many of the previously suggested options and most are out of date enough that they don't seem to work anymore.

   I tried integrating Gallery2 and Zenphoto, but neither really melded well and various software updates to different systems has left old workarounds not functioning. I've been through NEXTgen gallery and AWSOM PixGallery, but both were really disorganized and fickle with their output.

   I'm a photographer and only marginally a computer internet web type guy. So my modification options are limited.

   I was hoping that folks might be able to recommend what they feel are the absolute best options now available for simple and attractive image galleries with Wordpress. Plugins, workarounds, other gallery software, anything.

   So what do you think?

   bpetruzzo, I fully agree with you. I am also looking for a simple yet attractive photo gallery. And nothing too complicated! I look forward to an answer to our question.

   There really isn't one. The closest thing is still Nextgen Gallery unfortunately but it really isn't for anyone and is quite bulky.

   Custom development is the best way to go to get the most professional looking result. Plugins are free, and can be easy to use, but it seems like they are always missing that one special thing you wanted, or are way over complicated. If complication(lots of features) is what you want, then NextGen is definitely the best.

   HAve you looked at Simpleviewer http://www.airtightinteractive.com ?
   It uses Flash, there is a WP integration plugin for the free version...
