   Hi
   I installed a self hosted weblog last night. It is in a new domain. I accidentally put it in a sub-directory folder. It should have gone in the main directory. I have been trying to delete Wordpress so I can reinstall in the right area. This is the URL. http://benevolencesceneinvestigator.com/
   I originally installed wordpress in http://benevolencesceneinvestigator.com/weblog Which did not work out. I also removed the weblog part of the URL. I then deleted my data base, and added a new one. I then tried to reinstall. This did not work. I then tried to remove wordpress by deleting all the files from the website by FTP. As hard as I tried I could not do this either. I added another new data base and tried to reinstall again. But I could not do that either because there are already files in the directory. How can I remove the first install from my site so I can reinstall? As the first install is not working.

   The easiest way to delete all the installation files is if you have shell access, then you can just do an rm -rf on the whole thing.

   If you don't have shell access, your ftp client should let you delete the files. If you get permission errors where you think there shouldn't be, you'll have to contact your hosting company.
