A friend put up a WordPress site and then approached me about making a few changes.

Turns out the theme–Arthur, from Theme Forest–sidesteps WordPress’s functions for Pages, Posts, and Media Library! It displays content entered as html in a series of boxes accessed from Theme Options. You have to tell it where you have your images.

I’ve never seen anything like this before (maybe I’ve led a sheltered life?). It has me spooked: will it display correctly with an update? what are the implications for SEO?

The Arthur theme has some positive reviews online–but the reviewers seem to have just liked the appearance.

What problems do you foresee here? I need either to take the job or tell her good luck.
