False Sense of Security
-
This plugin gives the impression of security, but shortly after installing it on two web sites, those web sites were hacked – hackers placed a big banner all across my sites saying I’d been hacked. This plugin DID NOTHING to protect our sites from a brute force entry – even though I got “green” on every bit of their “list”.
Now, after updating the plugin from Better WP Security to iThemes Security, I get this error message and no access to admin:
“Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 30720 bytes) in /home/username/public_html/wp-admin/includes/deprecated.php on line 529”The only way to regain access to admin is to delete the plugin folder using ftp client. I’m probably better off without this plugin anyway.
