I run a multisite install for a media company. I have user registration disabled in the Network Admin settings, but I need to allow user-registration in a single site.

I can’t find an option for that in settings to enable it for one site.

Is it possible? I edited the site in the Network Admin and changed “Users Can Register” to “1”, but that didn’t enable user registration on that site.

You can’t allow user registration on one site only, because Multisite has network users only. A user is a user on the whole network. Now, they’re not ADDED as a real user to a specific site (that is they get no role) unless you do that manually.

Some options.

1) Allow registrations and have them auto-added to that site with the role you want: https://wordpress.org/plugins/multisite-user-management/ (POSSIBLY https://wordpress.org/plugins/join-my-multisite/ which will ‘fake’ registration per site, but they’re still going to be network added)

https://wordpress.org/plugins/multisite-user-registration-manager/ is broken but used to do this 🙁

2) Force all new users to be approved? https://wordpress.org/plugins/new-user-approve/
