    Hello,

I have a problem with the Plugin: Custom Sidebars.

    Here is the problem:
I make a new page, and after that I link the new Custom Sidebar that I have made with the new page; after that I add a new widget in the new custom sidebar that I have made; and AFTER I REFRESH: the widget: “Text” has disappeared… I don’t know why, really! I always SAVE IT — > everything… and it has disapperaed after that.

    Please help :/

    Hi @justbobbsap,

Sorry to hear of the problems you are having.

Which version of Custom Sidebars plugin and WordPress are you using?

This can be due to plugin / theme conflict. You can just try on your development site deactivating all other plugins and using default WordPress theme like Twenty Thirteen to know which theme/ plugin is conflicting if any.

You then test again, if the issue has magically gone away then it seems there is a conflict. So, next we’ll activate one plugin at a time, and the theme too, when the issue returns this will tell us where the conflict exists.

    Kind Regards,

Well, I am using PARABOLA THEME.
I don’t know if there is any problem with PARABOLA? Can you tell?
And by the way: I am not sure, how to make another wordpress site… I mean: a test one…

And btw: I am using just one widget: it’s called: “TEXT” … this plugin is in WordPress itself.. and when I “Add” it in the Custom Sidebar, after one “refresh” of the page – it disappears!

    By the way another thing:

I create one Custom Sidebar named “One” for lets say new page, named: “X” and I want it to be shown only on page “X”, right? After that I make new page, named “example” and I link it with the new Custom Sidebar I have created: “Two”.
And when I want to write down something in the sidebar for page: “X” and different thing in the page “example” – it disappears…….I mean it’s like: overwritten. So i can’t have “different Custom Sidebars for different pages” … It really bothers me 🙁 !
And the “TEXT” widget disappears also. I don’t have any other plugins …only custom sidebars. :/

    Hi @justbobbsap,

I have tested it on my test site using latest version of Custom sidebars plugin and it worked fine.

Please try to answer all of my questions that will help us to get to the bottom of this faster.

Is the following theme you are using?

Just create it the same way you have created your current site technically there is nothing difference between WordPress test site and live site.

You can create a new WordPress site by using the information provided on the following pages.

And the “TEXT” widget disappears also. I don’t have any other plugins

You can assign specific sidebars to the page / post, just select a sidebar from the page / posy edit screen and the default one will be replaced, if it is available on your template.

Could you please just try temporary using the default WordPress theme like Twenty Thirteen to know whether it’s working with default theme or not?

Have you made any changes in the Custom sidebars plugin?

    Regards,

    Hey there @justbobbsap,

It’s been quite a while since this was posted and we haven’t heard back from you but we’d love to assist further.

The plugin’s undergone a huge update recently and we’d love for you to give it a go with that and see how it works for you. It’s a very intuitive interface, very simply to configure.

This thread’s marked as resolved, but just let us know how we can be of further help. We’re happy to assist! 🙂

    Cheers!
