The only web design experience I have is making my own site so please be patient with me! And I don’t trust myself with code

My site: http://www.whitneylhicks.com, hosted on Blue Host, theme: Hatch

The homepage of my site features my art and design work as ordered posts. The categories (interiors, products, sculpture, 2D) in the menu isolate these categorized posts. I would like to keep this current format and add a blog page (it’s been added and is waiting to be blogged on!)

How do I get this blog page to act as a blog that does not affect the current format? I would like to easily update it with posts from my iphone and ipad. Do I need a new theme? Should I link this blog page to a recommended (and preferably free) blogging app that works with wordpress? Am I trying to turn a horse into a zebra?

Thank you for any and all input!

    You’re trying too hard 🙂

    – create a new category called Blog
    – create a new menu item of the Categories type and choose the Blog category you just created
    – create your blog posts and assign them to the Blog category 🙂

Note: if you haven’t already, you’ll have to create a new, custom menu to do the above. Here is a great place to read up on how to do this:
