    Hi there,

I am unable to turn off the Maintenance mode. I have tried the steps outlined in Maintenance Mode Guide at the end of the post. But this does not work and any visitors trying to access the front end of the site see the maintenance.php page still.

When I try to turn off the maintenance page at the end of the process BPS tells me – Error: You have not saved your option settings yet. Click the Save Options button.

I did have to upload a back-up database whilst the maintenance mode was on. This database was up to date with the BPS version but I don’t think I it was up-to-date with my last saved maintenance page, which might be why I am having this problem.

I imagine there is one very simple thing that I need to do: i.e. delete the maintenance.php pages and then rejiggle the .htaccess to stop sending requests there – but if someone could let me know if this is correct I would be very appreciative.

    Many thanks,
    Olly

Ahh, once again I have managed to sort it out. All I had to do was recreate a new maintenance page – save it – and then turn it off.

“Error: You have not saved your option settings yet. Click the Save Options button.”

I guess that would mean that at some point you had saved maintenance mode options in order to be able to turn on maintenance mode, but the DB option no longer existed anymore. Maybe a scenario like a site migration or clone was done of just files and the maintenance mode DB option did not exist since only files were migrated and not the DB/DB options. We did not think of this particular scenario, but it should be easy enough to add some sort of conditional check for this particular scenario.

Pending conditional checking code for this particular scenario in the next BPS version. Thread has been resolved.

Not sure how I missed this – “I did have to upload a back-up database whilst the maintenance mode was on.” So yeah the DB option did not exist in that DB backup. 😉
