    Hi there,
I am using wordpress 3.8.1 and the Headway theme. My link is .

I have recently worked with a brand and linked back to their page. However, they have contacted me asking me to remove a ‘viglink’ which I assume to be an affiliate link. This is very confusing as I never added any sort of affiliate link and just used a standard link. It was then suggested to me that wordpess sometimes automatically adds affiliate links. I know this is the case with wordpress.com but did not think this was the case with wordpress.org.

The link in question is the link in this post here:

Can anyone help me get to the bottom of this? Determine whether this truly is an affilate link and if it is, how to change this?

    Thank you very much,

    M.

Where did you get the theme? If you did not add the affiliate links/ads, they are coming from the theme, an installed plugin, or both. WordPress.org does not add these.

The theme is the headway theme, found here:

Is there any way of being able to tell whether this specific link is actually an affiliate link, as it appears to be normal for me but the brand I am working with seems sure it is an affiliate link?

    Thanks,

    M
