I’m using the Studiopress Magazine Pro theme. I am using your widget in both the home top and home middle widgets.

I was having trouble with pagination and getting a 404 error message and then I read in your response to one thread that it was because the number of posts to display was set differently in the widget than in the WordPress reading settings. This fixed the 404 problem.

I have the home top widget set to display one post. In the home middle it is set to display four (the same as in my reading settings.) The top does not have pagination or navigation enabled. The middle has both enabled. I have the middle set to offset post by one.

My problem is with pagination enabled, the top post shows again in the middle section on the home page. And again on the top on the following page.

How can I have the home top page widget, and keep it from showing again in these other places? I would like it ideally to just show the one larger post in the home top on the home page. Is this possible? Thanks in advance.

  • Set “number of posts to offset” to 1 in the second widget; which is to say “skip the first post”.
