folders created in media file manager do not show up in "media selector"

    How did you upload the files?
    Media selector shows files uploaded through the standard WordPress media uploader, instead of FTP, direct copying, etc.
    If there is no file uploaded through the standard WordPress media uploader in the folder, the folder does not appear in the Media Selector.

    I am actually trying to find “media selector” and the pull down menu. Could you offer specific steps to find. Using WP 3.9.1. Theme BrightNews Premium. I created in medial file manager many folders and have organized the images accordingly. I use the standard WP Media upload to upload images, pdfs, etc. Thanks for any help you can offer.
