    Because you told it to:

    h1#site-title img{
    width: 1000px;
    height: 226px;
    }

    Is the top banner area not 1000px?

    I’m a bit confused as to what size i need to be saving my image as and instructing it to display as. It also appears to have a padding to the left?!

    I basically just need to know how to display that banner across the top of my page. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    No it’s not 1000 pixels, it’s 578px, see: http://snag.gy/hiIZg.jpg

    What do you mean across the top of your page, it’s already across top of your page.

    Thanks andrew, that fixed it. Do you know how i can get rid of or reduce the padding or margin thats keeping the logo from being closer to the left edge of the page?

    Fixed now
