Hacker attempt – have question

    An IP address tried to hack my site via apache and it was blocked
    ModSecurity: Access denied with code 503

    It was the same IP address over and over again and I blocked the address as well.

    I called my Host Dreamhost and they recommended better WP security but I told them I use Bulletproof security so we really didn’t get anywhere.

    Do you have a link to BPS documentation that I can look at to perhaps add in some additional security measures?

    503 works as well as 403. If that IP address is being blocked with either 503 or 403 status then there is nothing else that needs to be done – the hacker is being blocked – problem solved.

    503 Service Unavailable

    The server is currently unable to handle the request due to a temporary overloading or maintenance of the server. The implication is that this is a temporary condition which will be alleviated after some delay.

    Better WP Security is in serious trouble these days. Apparently the last 2 versions destroyed a lot of folks websites and those folks are lashing out every way they can. 1 star ratings, ranting, slashing and burning. Must be a very painful experience for all involved.

    Yes. Thanks as always. I saw all the issues about Better WP Security. I’m a huge fan of your plugin and the support and told DH so maybe they will recommend you too.
