I tried leaving the readmore field blank and it still displays. What I really need is NO readmore link because I’m using the Via with the newsfeed that links to the full version. And is there any way to get that Via link to show up at the end of the excerpted article instead of a line or two below it? That would look so much neater.
you can only do this BEFORE the import. the newer versions of wordpress put the content in more place than one, and unless you are good at editing mysql databases, you can’t remove the more and the link and the c.r.a.p. that came from the rss feed…
I had to learn the hard way.
I’ve got a kind-of fix. I set the readmore link to say More at and the attribution link just has : so I can almost combine them, if I can just remove the linebreak after the readmore link so it grabs the attribution immediately after the readmore. But I don’t know what page to edit to remove that extra break.

You can just put in NONE in the text box for the read more words..by doing so, no Read More text will show.
Actually, when I put NONE in the box, the word NONE appeared in the content. Leaving it blank with a space in the box worked for me.
