Please put the files in a plugin directory named ar_gwa or many problems will come up.

Also please post your WP version with any other problems. This plugin works best with WP2.5

hey thanks for the quick response. My wp version is 2.5.1. But before I upgraded from 2.5 to 2.5.1, I tried exactly what you recommended with creating a dir named ar_gwa in the plugins dir. Unfortunately I am getting the same error in 2.5.1 as I did in 2.5. It doesn't seem like anyone is having this trouble but me huh?

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /save4real.net/wp-content/plugins/ar_gwa/ar_gwa.php on line 993

That is usually produced by a code formatting error like an extra comma or missing semi-colon or bracket? I would expect everybody would have this problem?

If you are having this problem please try the plugin file here instead.

Just replace the ar_gwa.php in the plugin directory with the one linked above.

Very few of you have had this problem but if it works let me know and I'll make a revision.

    Good Luck.

I have the same error with wordpress 2.5.1

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /save4real.net/wp-content/plugins/ar_gwa/ar_gwa.php on line 993

even replacing the new ar_gwa.php file in my ar_gwa directory gives same result..Strange but true..

I can install on Wp 2.5.1

But the problem happen to me, when subscriber want to subscribe, the system stating error like this

    Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/bypassui/public_html/onlinemoneycoaching.com/wp-content/plugins/autoresponder-gwa/ar_gwa.php on line 87

So the system cannot unsubscribe them.

I can't get the plugin to to install either... and none of the suggestions here seem to be working for me. I get these errors:

    With the old file:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/content/n/t/h/nthnlsmmrs/html/freetrafficworks/wp-content/plugins/ar_gwa/ar_gwa.php on line 1097

    and the new one:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/content/n/t/h/nthnlsmmrs/html/freetrafficworks/wp-content/plugins/ar_gwa/ar_gwa.php on line 1112

I'm using the latest version of wordpress: 2.6
It doesn't seem to be acting up because of other plugins either... I can't get it to activate even when it's the only plugin installed on the blog.

Alright everyone, after much research and some good hard digging, I managed to figure out that it's a php version problem.

This plugin requires PHP 5 in order to run properly.

If you're running on Godaddy, you need to make sure that you're using configuration 2.0 (which allows for both php 4 and 5 to run at the same time)... however, you also need to modify your httaccess file to include these lines:

    AddHandler x-httpd-php5 .php
    AddHandler x-httpd-php .php4

And that cleared it right up for me.
Now I'm off to see if the plugin actually behaves as it should under this new configuration.

I have big problem installing this autoresponder on version 2.5 or 2.5.1 or 2.6

    the same error
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION
why have we to suffer in installing this error ridden plug-in?

can any one tell me of any other plug-in that works

all your solutions, with respect, did not work

    Hi all,

I apologize for the number and frequency of the updates but I do try to offer new features as well as the bug fixes whenever I release an updated version.

For this plugin to operate it relies a lot on your server configuration to be correct. As you notify me of problems I can fix them for you (and everyone else.)

If you have problems with this or any Code4Cookies plugins, with one click you can create a free Wordpress blog with autoresponder and all our plugins pre-installed.
