• When I change the permalink structure to /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/ the theme shows the portfolio page as a blog page. It happens when I try to access domain.com/portfolio and it show the posts and blog posts and not in 3 or 4 columns as I choose in the backoffice.

    make sure you’re not setting this page as a Post Page in Settings > Reading > Static Front Page

    My home page is my latest articles.
    When I have the default permalink structure it works. (when the URL is something like this: domain.com/?page_id=28 it works)

    When I change to /%postname%/ it breaks and display the portfolio posts as blog posts (1 per line) and not in columns

    have you use page template for portfolio? by default portfolio archieve is looks like a blog posts ( 1 per line ), you can create an empty page and assign it into portfolio page template to get the column
