    Hello,

Thank you very much for creating Event Manager. I’m sure in the near future I will pay for the PRO features.

For now, I am interested in how to piggyback from EM to allow users to submit WordPress posts using EM.
The reason for this, a website I’m compiling will be geographic in nature for users across the continental U.S. states. I like how EM’s submissions include “City, State” and I can output submissions in a list form using location coordinates. In a nutshell, I wish to allow users to submit WordPress posts to their community using EM. I hope this makes sense.

My question is: How do I duplicate the submission form to take off the “When” box? I wish to use 2 separate submission forms. One is for events and the other is for non-events “WordPress posts”.

PS I tried using GeoMashup but I figured I could piggyback from EM because your product is fantastic, flexible, and hey if possible hit two birds with one stone. (Use 1 plugin vs 2 separate plugins).

    Carlos

I will add a shortcode to a second page and apply CSS to remove the “when box”.

Plus, I will add custom fields to transmit into wordpress posts categories.

    Hi Carlos,

Thanks for your kind words about the plugin.

This tutorial should help in explaining how to create custom versions of templates that won’t get overwritten when the plugin upgrades:

You’d need to do some custom coding to allow for the submission of normal posts. One fairly easy way to do that might be to assign events that are really posts their own category or tag. That would allow you to filter them out of the main events list.
