If you’re using a widget in the sidebar (like recent posts), you can change the number of posts to show. In the backend, go to Appearance > Widgets and open up the sidebar widget that shows your posts. You have to put an actual number (can’t just put “all,” for instance), but you can certainly increase it past 5. Just keep in mind that if you have a lot of posts, it will be difficult for people to navigate your site, so you should put a realistic limit on it.
