    Hello

When i publicize and share my posts on Facebook, and they contain embedded YouTube movies, the movie picture is shown on Facebook with a little playing arrow in the middle of it, but when it is clicked, the image simply disappears and nothing happens. Worst part is that it doesn’t even link to my blog site, which means that the whole idea of publicizing it is lost.

Please fix this as soon as possible

I have the latest version of Jetpack

The last 3 shared links are broken. All the other older ones work. What is going on?

    Hi!

Can you share direct links to the Facebook posts that show this being broken? I’ll take a closer look once I have that. Thanks!

    Here is one of them:

I have since this had to change the og:image to prevent the embedded video to show, so to make the links at least lead people to my site.

Thats weird…when i first checked the direct link to this post, it didn’t work, but when i double checked it after replying to you just now, it works. However it only works when viewed as a direct link, when it is listed on my main website page on Facebook, it still refuses to do anything. Its located a couple of post down on this page:

I was unable to reproduce this on my end, with the exact same video; everything worked as expected. However, I noticed something:

The source of your site shows the video being loaded like this:

    <p><iframe width="584" height="329" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/JPNo79U77yI?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>

    Whereas mine looks like this:

    <p><span class='embed-youtube' style='text-align:center; display: block;'><iframe class='youtube-player' type='text/html' width='604' height='370' src='http://www.youtube.com/embed/JPNo79U77yI?version=3&rel=1&fs=1&showsearch=0&showinfo=1&iv_load_policy=1&wmode=transparent' frameborder='0'></iframe></span></p>

I embedded my video simply by inputting it on a single line and letting WordPress do the rest; do you have any plugins that may be handling the embed rather than WordPress doing it? I’m not sure if this difference affect anything though, but it might.

I only add the link to the Youtube video into the post as pure text. I am not sure if WordPress or Jetpack does the magic thing with it, but it gets embedded automatically. The only other plugin i have remotely related to embedded videos are “All in one SEO pack” ( in which i have tried every possible setting without any solution ) and “YouTube not found” which checks all YouTube embeds periodically for broken videos.

I like to point out that auto publicizing to tumblr works perfectly and the video runs just fine from there. This is strictly a Facebook problem

Ok, and so what is the exact YouTube URL that you input on a single line in your post editor?

Well, something on your site is changing that link to something different, that Facebook seems to have trouble with; at least, so it seems. In your other thread I asked for a zip file of your theme. I’ll try to reproduce this with your theme as well, then. Reply here as well once you’ve uploaded the theme, so I don’t forget to try to reproduce this. 🙂

Cool. I have now uploaded a zip file of my child’s theme and sent the link to you via the Jetpack contact form.

I replied to your other thread with the same question: has this been resolved yet?

    Copy-paste from other thread:

“Ooh, sorry, i totally forgot to follow up on this forum. Yes, it´s all fixed now, it turned to be a closing and opening php tag with a couple of lines between them in function.php that caused the problem, but it´s all fixed now, thank you for all the help :)”
