Did it ever work before? I’ve never looked at Nexcellent, so this may have to go in the feature request category.

Well, NextCellent Gallery (https://wordpress.org/plugins/nextcellent-gallery-nextgen-legacy/ ) is really NextGen Gallery version 1.9.13, but kept updated with security fixes etc. It is a great alternative for those of use who don’t like/need NextGen Gallery v2, and it is very popular.

I think EWWW should be able to work with NextCellent Gallery. But I think it is something in the way that EWWW detects the presents of NextGen Gallery 1.9.13 that is not 100% compatible with NextCellent Gallery. It may be in the plugin folder name or something, I’m not really a developer.

Would be great if you could take a look 🙂

Aha, I knew I had heard of it somewhere before, but couldn’t remember why. Ok, so this will be classed as an official feature request, which requires more feedback from others before implementation (because this will expand my testing base substantially).

If you are interested in NextCellent integration, please post a +1

I have to keep switching between next-gen and nextcellent to optimize images, would be great if EWWW worked with nextcellent.

Well, at this point, nextcellent support is in ‘dev’, you can check it out here, and let me know if anything doesn’t work that used to in nextgen: http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/ewww-image-optimizer.zip

It still doesn’t optimize thumbs on upload (just like legacy nextgen), but will give you a button at the top to optimize thumbs after upload (you have to scroll up after it finishes).

    Thanks for supporting Nextcellent!

I can’t seem to get the bulk optimise option to work, it only ever says that there is 1 image to optimise. Upon pressing the button, it does nothing.

Optimising one and one image works, but not really an option for thousands of images.

I’ll check into it and see what I can find out. I thought I tested that, but perhaps I missed it.

Just confirmed your problem on my dev site. Looking into it.

Ok, give grab a fresh copy of the plugin from the dev link and see how that works for you.

I also added in a failsafe in case you accidentally activate both nextgen & nextcellent at the same time. Nextcellent is supposed to turn itself off, but apparently it doesn’t do so early enough in the ‘init’ process, and EWWW would then cause a very nasty WSOD (white screen of death) that was very difficult to get rid of.

Seems to work well! It optimised the images.

But it did display these warnings/errors :

Warning: require_once(/home/content/p3nexnas03/21/2071021/html/wp-content/plugins/nextcellent-gallery/lib/meta.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/p3nexnas03/21/2071021/html/wp-content/plugins/ewww-image-optimizer/nextcellent-integration.php on line 376

Ah, I messed up the path on that line… Fixed in dev.
