• Hi, I just installed the plugin search unleashed http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search-unleashed/ After clicking on “Re-index”, my site was suddenly gone. Blank pages everywhere. What to do in such cases?

I’ve sent an email to my hosting provider asking for a backup, but would like to know if there is something I can do with plugins that mess up the site. I deleted the plugin via ftp but it did not help. Thanks!

  • check your error log for a start

The “easy” way to turn off a plugin is to FTP to your site and delete the plugin file from the plugins directory.

Thanks for your answers. As I wrote, it did not help to delete the plugin files. I suppose the plugin has already done some damage when it started reindexing.

Did you check the error log,

post a link to the site

or do a re-install – Check your database is ok, do a backup of db and files.
The install a fresh copy of wordpress and use the same db and move anything you need from the old files (uploaded files etc) to the new install.
    And above all ENJOY!
