My dashboard appears to be incomplete. There is no OPTIONS heading so I can’t place or use the area that pings other sites to announce the blog postings, etc. Should I start over or is there a way of adding/updating or whatever. I would appreciate any help you might be able to give me. thanks oldnewuser2

  • Options for what? There is a “Settings” I assume?

Same here, just installed & there is no way to add posts, edit posts, add widgits, nothing. Just a partial dashboard with no funcitionality

Why would this happen & what do we do to fix it?

obvious question – Are you logged in as admin user?

Also did you disable all plugins prior to upgrading or if fresh install check which plugins you have (if any) which are active – might be problem caused by plugins.

logged in as admin, yet it says I don’t have permissions when I try to find out how to add a post. Any help is appreciated. Fresh install.

cwinkler, if its your first install, best thing is to start over.
If anything had gone wrong in initial install, it should have come up with errors. Something obviously is wrong or someone has managed to get in and change your permissions.

One thing before attempting reinstall, clear all your browser cache, attempt login, if ok fine, if not re-install. Thats only my suggestion, other solutions may exist but would involve messing with database.

it is installed & working, and I had a guy integrate it into my website, so I’ll contact them to see what is going on.
The dashboard is there, no tabs to add or modify posts, and when I click to see recent comments, I get this:

You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

I logged in after 3 months of not doing anything on my blog and now my dashboard is missing some navigation tabs. There is no tab to access “Manage” or “Design” or “Settings” or “Plugins” so I cannot access my Pages or the Stylesheet or my widgets, etc. Can someone provide me with a detailed description of how to fix it myself? wordpress instructions for dummies is appreciated.
    Thank you.
