• Hello,

I’ve built my website in Webmatrix and now I’m ready to publish it. I’ve already purchased a domain name from namecheap.com and a hosting plan from ASPHostportal.com. Namecheap is still sorting out the DNS pointing, the last time I checked. However, I’m trying to upload the site to my host and I’m having a bit of difficulty. Two things:

Webmatrix gives me an error when uploading files. I’m not sure how to fix it.

    1:24:16 PM: Transferring: wp-content/plugins/jetpack/languages/jetpack-da_DK.po (174999 bytes)
    ERROR: Error in the application.
1:25:05 PM: Failed FTP Action . Timeout exceeded.
    1:25:05 PM: Transferring: wp-content/plugins/jetpack/locales.php (52098 bytes)
1:25:05 PM: Failed FTP Action . Cannot send command to the server because the response for previous one was not received.

    1:25:05 PM: Transferring: wp-cron.php (2932 bytes)

Second, when I check for compatibility within Webmatrix, everything checks out except for the database, because FTP can’t publish databases. How would I go about doing this otherwise?

  • usually when moving site from localhost to live server – this is a easy way to do it and you dont have to work with database,
Just install a fresh copy of WordPress on your live server, and than copy your theme folder to live server
Login into dasboard > tools > import > wordpress

From your local server tools> export > wordpress

What about plugins, should I upload that as well?
