Just tested again with the public facebook posts. Works ok with statuses, photos and videos.

Can you share your url so we can check?

Thanks Flexxo, care to share the URL you try to embed?

We reviewed the complete FB implementation in our API and it is likely the bugs are fixed, if any.

The private posts are being rejected in a more obvious way than before. Plus we might have had the issue with the widget renders of some specific URLs before (which made them invisible).

So I will close this for now. If anyone sees any issues, please, share the exact URLs you try to embed.

    Hi,

i am also having problems displaying Facebook fan/business page in an iframe. I have installed framely on two different WP themes and tried v3.8 and 3.9 the only thing displayed on the post or page is the
post title which hyperlinks to the FB page.

the url I’m hoping to embed is https://www.facebook.com/pages/Alibi-Z%C3%BCrich/202420663112702

@keved, right, FB “Pages” don’t have native embed codes and so Iframely doesn’t support it. For FB, Iframely works with statuses/posts/photos and videos only.

Generally, if you’d like to embed anything as iframe, you could just put iframe’s HTML code in the editor (as admin).

However, it won’t work with FB Pages (and your URL above). FB protects this page from being embedded in iframe (they have x-frame-options:DENY flag there)

I tried to embed a post from a page but it didnot work , it just showed the facebook link , is that because of the same reason?

then if facebook is protecting embedding posts from pages , why they are offering embed codes on the posts if we cannot use it?

@queeneve The FB posts from FB pages should work fine. You just follow a link behind its timestamp like “on Nov 14” and then use this as the link.

Can you share the URL you try to embed?

I tried many links but lets say this one

    [iframely]https://www.facebook.com/SchoolsInQatar/posts/365094113638764[/iframely]

    it shows empty post

That does sound suspicious. I just checked on our test WP instance, and it all works fine. Both with the URL on a separate line and as the shortcode.

Let’s try to find what the problem is.

    – What’s your WP version?
    – If you see an empty post now rather than FB link, it is likely that the code shows up but wouldn’t work on your page. Can you check the view-source: of a post to see if the embed code is there?
    – And if it is in the source code, but wouldn’t show up – can you open the JavaScript console and see if there are any scripting errors in it?

Both page’s source and JavaScript console are called from View->Dev Tools (or similar) or by right clicking on the page.

    Thanks

I am using the latest version of wordpress

    and that is what happened

I found a plugin called jQuery lazy load plugin on my dashboard , I thought it might be conflicting so I deactivate it then the facebook post appeared on my website

Then I reactivate it one more time to find the post still appearing

so I dont know the main reason why it didnot appear before but now it is appearing and thanks for your nice and quick reply

    (@ivanp)

Glad to hear it is now resolved. Yes, I can see how some type of lazy-loading may cause conflicts with the WP 4.0 new “inline previews” of embeds.

    and here is the reason:

if your facebook is logged as a page , it shows the post to be empty
you have to log in as an individual profile to see the post appearing on the website
