Display only children of a specific category in Write Post Page

I’m wondering if there is a way to display only children of a specific category in the Write Post Page. I’m actually trying to make two categories boxes (for design and functional purposes) and show only the child categories of particular parents (I don’t want to show the parents). Again, I want to limit the visibility of certain categories when writing a post.
