Post Categories on the fly – Post Tiles Plugin

Someone asked earlier about how to put the tile shortcode in a category page, but the answer given pulls all categories into the results. It doesn’t select the category on the fly.
What I need is when someone clicks on the category in my main menu, only THAT category shows up in the resulting tile selections. If I specify one category in the shortcode, then no matter what category in the main menu is picked, only that shortcode category will show up. I need the category to be pulled from the site’s menu, not the plugin’s menu.
Does that make sense?
