pull content from several blogs to one

I am trying to set up a central blog where it will display the blog posts in chronological order of about 10 affiliate blogs. There are a number of bloggers that are going to attend a conference. Ideally we want the blog posts to reside in one central place and then for each blogger to be able to republish their specific content on their site.

I’m not sure if it is easier to pull content from several blogs onto one or whether I should have everyone blog at the main site and then there would be some way to self populate the individual bloggers sites.

I thought about using an rss feed plugin, but the posts are separated by feed. Instead, I want the blog posts to appear chronologically no matter who posts them.

I was thinking that maybe there was some way for the RSS Feed to populate the blog post page where the RSS feed could be assigned to a particular blogger using custom fields.

Any ideas?
