These are coming in every few minutes now???
It’s been fine for a week until today, nothing has changed so I haven’t got a clue what is going on.
Andrew
Do you have something running which is automatically attempting to log into your account?
Hello and thanks for the reply.
No, nothing like that. It just started happening yesterday morning and hasn’t stopped.
Andrew
I have tried the fix in this post:
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/failed-login-attempts-from-my-ip?replies=7
Will wait for a couple of hours to see if that helps. However, I don’t use any cloud based services so what could be causing this, any ideas because I would prefer to get it fixed rather than mask over the issue.
Thanks
Andrew
That didn’t work. Still getting the
lockup emails.
Andrew
Do you have any plugins or something which uses XML-RPC on your site?
In the meantime, to avoid the lockdown emails why don’t you disable that feature and use one of the brute force login protection mechanisms?
Hello and thanks for the reply.
No, I don’t use XML-RPC – it’s a very simple installation with minimal plugins. I did try the brute force the other day but ran into problems witht he login page so decided not to use it.
The only thing I do a couple of times a day is FTP to the site to upload some files but the ftp password is completely different and should try to access the login page? Also, ftp uses SFTP.
Thanks

Which plugins do you have installed?
Hello and thanks for the reply.
Strangely it has now stopped? Havent had any notifications for a couple of days and there is nothing in the logs.
Will keep an eye on it today and let you know.
Thanks
Andrew
