• Every time I try to upload an image with the new media editor, it says

“File is empty. Please upload something more substantial. This error could also be caused by uploads being disabled in your php.ini.”

But the thing is, the file gets uploaded, it just acts like it doesn’t (it stops and shows me the message above). Is this function broken or something? What’s the deal?

I just tried it on a different server and it seems to be working fine…

None of the things in that topic you posted helped me… not even the flash disabling plugin. WTF?

Then it’s likely that your server doesn’t allow file uploads or some such thing. Talk to your host.

hm… but it DOES upload. It just doesn’t SAY it uploaded.

Visinoni – did you ever get a solution to this?

I’m having the problem in 2.7 where the uploader screen just turns white right after I click on Insert Image. And it doesn’t insert the image.

I’ve re-uploaded the wp files and that didn’t help. I also have an exact copy of this site running under a different domain on the same server and the image uploader works fine there. But not on this one – and I copied all the files to here directly from the other domain.

I’m having the same problem’in 2.7. The given topic does not help me.
I’m able to upload the pics, but once I want to insert them in a message the screen turns white and nothing happens at all.

    How can we fix it??

ShazzleBee – EXACTLY same problem here. The images do get uploaded and they are there and you can view them through the uploader… you just can’t insert them into the article.

The really frustrating thing for me is that it works fine on another site that is an exact copy of this site and on the same server!

jcerious – I’m pretty wondered that nobody seems to be able to awnser. It’s like we are the only ones with this problem…

    I’m getting nuts…
Really strange that it works fine on a different site and on the same server!? This is really above my head πŸ˜‰

Same problem. I get a popup stating I am migrating away and will lose unsaved content. Then separate page opens where I can upload/insert images, but get white screen. They successfully upload, but can’t insert them into posts. I have already replaced wp-includes and wp-admin folders, but no help.

Pfff… perhabs they will solve the problem in an update…
At the dashboard it is working though, but not at the posts itself.. So, it’s just a matter of copy / past πŸ˜‰

I have noticed I’m having the problem in Internet Exporer and in Firefox. But when I use Google Chrome I am able to insert pictures in a post through the uploader. So from now on I’m using Google Chrome πŸ˜‰

Oh really!? Cool. I’ll give Chrome a try. Seems like I was having some other problem in chrome though. But I’ll try it.

One other thing – just in case this info helps… I just copied the database of the site where it didn’t work over to the database of the site where it did work, and that site stopped working after I did that! So it leads me to think it’s something in the database. One difference between the two sites was the plugins I had installed. So I thought maybe it was a plugin. So I deactivated all the plugins (on the site where it used to work before I copied the bad database over) and that didn’t have any effect.

And yes, I’m really surprised no one here has any idea about this. I’ve seen many other people mention that they were having this same problem. Thanks for posting your latest info Shazzle!

No… using chrome didn’t work for me.
