• Hi there Guys and Girls

I am using Yoast and it is a great plugin but, over the last few days I have noticed that the colour has changes on one of the lines under “Page Analysis” I did keep getting Green but know I am getting orange for the following line “No outbound links appear in this page, consider adding some as appropriate.” Dose anyone have any thoughts?

    Thank you
    Kind regards
    John

  • This should be fixed in the next version (1.5.2.3), I’ve seen a fix for this committed to the plugin core code.

Thanks jrf, I’ve been experiencing the same problem and just wanted to know that Yoast were on the case. I’ll move on and wait for the release.

There was a new update this morning and I am still having the same problem. I have outbound links in my post but the plugin doesn’t recognize them. Not the end of the world but mildly annoying.

Yes, that was 1.5.2.2. jrf says the fix will be in 1.5.2.3…Yoast have put a few updates out recently, I imagine all this is a fallout following their latest major release and I’m hoping that 1.5.2.3 will be quickly released in the coming week(s).

@pepper Pete, please read my earlier message.

@counsellinghub posting at the same time πŸ˜‰
And yes, you are right. v1.5 was a **major** upgrade. It was tested by some thousand people for a month, but that of course still doesn’t cover all situations. So we’ve been closely monitoring what people are saying since the official release this last Tuesday (only three days ago) and have patched any and all bugs we could identify based on input received since, which is why there have been (4!) patch releases since Tuesday. We’re trying to get them out to people as soon as we can to minimize disruption on websites.

@jrf…thought as much. I’ve got problems on a few pages within the page analysis tab relating to:
    * The keyword doesn’t appear in the first paragraph of the copy.
    * The keyword density is 0%.
    * No outbound links appear in this page.
All of which are ok…I’ll wait to see if 1.5.2.3 fixes everything first before I add to the confusion. Thanks for your response.

@counsellinghub the outbound links fix will be in the next version, the keyword density/first paragraph issue is an altogether different issue. We are aware of this and are trying to find a solution, but no fix is available at the moment of writing.

It does seem that the keyword density issue is most prevalent amongst people using PHP5.3.x. Anyways, even though it’s only a very small part of the complete plugin, it’s actually quite a complicated bit as you have to take different writing systems, character encodings etc into account. And having strange differences in results between PHP versions doesn’t help πŸ˜‰

Thanks for the update. Yes, I’m on PHP 5.3.x, can’t remember exact version. I’m using WP Engine hosting. I can imagine it is pretty complicated and it’s good that you are on it. If I come across anything else I’ll let you know. Is this the best place to report?

@counsellinghub Actionable information about bugs can be reported on GitHub. There are a couple of issues open about keyword density already, so preferably add additional info to (one of) them rather than opening a new issue (duplicate issues are frowned upon).
Do be aware that GitHub issues is only for bug reports and such, *not* for support questions.

OK I’ll do that and I’ll remember bugs ONLY. πŸ™‚ Thanks again.

    Thanks for the update!!

I thought I was doing something wrong and I was starting to investigate other SEO alternatives.. Glad I’m not going mad!!

    Hello,

I am facing the same issue about outbound links. I am also getting yellow for the field “No outbound links appear in this page, consider adding some as appropriate.”

There a few outbound links on my page http://minance.com/

Is there a way I can make it green or am I doing something wrong here?

@jrfMember Can you please help me out?

    Thanks in advance,

    Nepoleon

@minance. No. This issue is nine months old and the issue at that time was fixed.
Please open your own issue or if you believe it is a bug and have actionable information, open an issue (or add to an existing one) on GitHub.
