• Yes, this plugin works great out of the box is amongst the best out there. Functionally it works great for the most part. However, it has a few shortcomings if you’re a developer.

There are some core issues about the way it’s been coded which, contrary to the plugin authors statement “built in the wordpress way”, is not built in the wordpress way. Well, not to a certain extent.

A revisit to properly understand how custom taxonomies and post types work together as well as the wordpress templating system, would greatly benefit all involved. Theme integration and some basic functionality (eg breadcrumbs, built-in wordpress menu classes) would certainly be improved instead of hacky-hack-hacks needing to be implemented to make things work.

So to go from a good plugin to a great plugin, these things need to be addressed.

  • Hey Steph, Rob from Modern Tribe here. Thanks a bunch for writing this review – yours is the type of honest feedback we seriously appreciate, since it helps us get a sense of what users are feeling and how the plugin could be improved to better meet their needs.

You raise some awesome points…and we appreciate the 4 star review that accompanied them. I would love to hear more from you if you were open to providing some additional thoughts as to specific roadblocks/obstacles you encountered that could be addressed more smoothly. If you’d ever be willing to shoot an email to rob @ tri.be, I think we could use it to fuel meaningful change in the plugin codebase.

Either way, thanks for the review and feedback. We’re glad you’re able to use it and hope that in future builds we are able to get it into “great” territory 🙂 Cheers man.
