How to preserve jetpack-carousel css and js modifications from updates?

    How can I preserve jetpack-carousel css and js modifications from updates? I made some code changes in jetpack-carousel.css and jetpack-carousel.js, but would like to not lose them when Jetpack Carousel is updated.

    Currently I am copying and pasting mu modified code to the new updates. Can I have a child plugin for Jetpack Carousel?
