Hey Riz,
They should work just about anywhere you use them. If you can tell me what you need to do I can help out a bit more.
Thanks for the prompt reply.
Here is the link:
http://stragglersofasia.burnbake.net/wp/matches/middleton-stoney-sunday-27-april-2014/
You can see that the shortcode is printed to the page as is, instead of its data.
Also, where can I edit what is displayed on the My Bookings page? Link below:
http://stragglersofasia.burnbake.net/wp/matches/my-bookings/
What is it you want to display there? I’m guessing a list of people going to the event? In which you need to use #_ATTENDEES or #_ATTENDEESLIST.
This should help:
http://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/placeholders/
You’ll find the My Bookings template at /events-manager/templates/templates/my-bookings.php – be sure to see this page on creating upgrade safe custom templates:

My confusion it seems not understanding the difference between the two groups of placeholders for bookings.
What are the differences between #_ATTENDEE* and #_BOOKING* placeholders? Why are booking placeholders split in to two groups?
Thank you.
placeholders with #_BOOKING* is pertaining to all bookings stuff or information about the booking of a user while #_ATTENDEE will simply list all the attendee of the event. you can find more explanation at http://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/placeholders/ or http://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation as per caimin pointed above.
I realise I’m thick but please bear with me.
Can you give me an example where I can use #_BOOKING* on an EM page (not an email)? Documenetation of the booking page is not even touching this subject.

PS. I really appreciate your help. I’m not new to EM, but thi sis the first time I used bookings.
It can be complicated π
A booking can be made by a single user.
A booking can include many attendees.
A booking will contain information about the user making the booking, such as their address and phone number.
A booking will also contain information about *each* attendee, such as name and eating preferences.
For example;
Jon books a family holiday
Jon specifies 5 attendees (himself, his wife and 3 kids)
Jon puts his name, address and phone number in the *booking* form
Jon specifies for each member of his family (attendees) their name and age.
The booking therefore contains; Jon’s name, address, tel number
The attendee info contains; the name and age of Jon, his wife, 3 children.
So, using #_BOOKINGSUMMARY would print all the booking details, and using #_ATTENDEESLIST would print out the name and age of each member of Jon’s family.
Hope that’s clear!
Thank you but where do you see these booking and use #_BOOKING* placeholders? Where ever I put them they failed to display anything but themselves.
They should work just about anywhere. I’m looking at http://stragglersofasia.burnbake.net/wp/matches/middleton-stoney-sunday-27-april-2014/ and I can see names listed under “Attending”, so it seems to be working on that way.
If there’s a page where you’re using placeholders but they’re not working, can you paste the link here? That’ll help us figure out what’s wrong. Thanks.
As I said above #_ATTENDEELIST does work. I now added ##_BOOKINGSUMMARY. You can see the result:
http://stragglersofasia.burnbake.net/wp/matches/middleton-stoney-sunday-27-april-2014/
am afraid that #_BOOKINGSUMMARY can only be use in emails at events > settings > emails > booking email templates
That is now obvious now but as far as I can see documentation doesn’t differentiate where each placeholder is used or am I missing a section?
We could probably make the placeholders page clearer, but you should also see a description advising which placeholders can be used when viewing Events > Settings > Formatting and Events > Settings > Emails, etc.
you should also see a description advising which placeholders can be used when viewing Events > Settings > Formatting and Events > Settings > Emails, etc.
May I kindly ask where is that advisory? All I can see is the following and it confused me as I thought I was displaying a booking related information.
When a specific booking is displayed (on screen and on email), you can use these placeholders to show specific information about the booking.
May I kindly ask where is that advisory?
See this screenshot showing the advisory below the box itself.
Thanks
