  • Bad experience as well with update. Updating 2.0.40 to 2.0.57,,, WordPress 3.81.
The update caused my LightBox (jQuery ColorBox) to stop working, and my menu.
Didn’t investigate any further, resorted to backup of the website and rolled backed the NextGen update,,all fine of course WITHOUT the update.
Any ideas what casued the problem with the NextGen Update??

@cainsworth Rename via FTP Nextgen folder, e.g. nextgen-old, to restore the site visibility at once. Refresh your web pages.
Then download the last fresh NGG package to your desktop, unzip it and upload the NGG folder inside to your site via FTP.
After that if you refresh you’ll see two NGG in your admin plugin list. If everything is OK, delete nextgen-old via FTP, refresh plugin admin page, and activate NGG.
You can skip the first passage and do the manual update via FTP overwriting with the fresh NGG package – I told you that if you want immediately restore your site.

    Thanks @tizz!

@cainsworth – Please let us know if reactivating version 2.0.57 causes this to happen again.

@klogan2 – Please start your own topic as it is not related to the original post in this topic. Also we addressed the known issues with jQuery ColorBox that we were aware of so there may be something unique in your situation that should be in its own topic.

    Thanks!

No, doing as you suggested did not fix my problem. It’s like it messed something else. I have cleared cache and refreshed the pages to no avail. Currently I have nextgen-gallery renamed to nextgen-gallery-old and still cannot get my installed plugin page back.

@cainsworth Don’t you get only that page or the whole site?

Everything else works fine, except the “Installed Plugins” page.

@cainsworth Rename plugin folder via FTP and check after having cleared the browser cache

That worked. Thanks for the suggestion.

After a couple of times in trying to activate the plugin it finally activated and everything seems to be working. Thanks for your assistance.

    @cainsworth you’re welcome

2.0.57 breaks Layerslider. Do not update.

@dj_hiking – Can you start your own topic for how your site specifically is being affected and how exactly “Layerslider” is breaking.

    Thanks!
