• My wife has a photography business and her website is http://nicoleleephotographymaine.blogspot.com/. Last year she purchased the domain name http://www.nicoleleephotos.com and had this address direct traffic to her blogspot site. This domain name is registered with Go Daddy. She recently purchased Prophoto, which is a website builder for photographers and works within the WP dashboard. WP is installed on http://www.nicoleleephotos.com/temp/.

I am building the website for her and am experiencing issues that are inconsistent. When i go to the wp-admin page, sometimes i get the WP dashboard, sometimes her blogspot website will load. If i clear the cache, i will sometimes get the WP dashboard. Sometimes i have to try loading the wp-admin page many times, clicking refresh over and over until i get the log in screen to the dashboard. The times i don’t get the dashboard, it’s loading her blogspot website.

When i do get into the dashboard i can begin to work on the website, but it’s inevitable that when i attempt to save a change, i will be kicked back to the blogspot website. It does’t do it every time, but i haven’t been able to work within WP for more than twenty minutes at a time before getting kicked out.

I have tried to disconnect all ties to her blogspot website. I deleted forwarding action that was occurring for the http://www.nicoleleephotos.com site.

Not sure what to do from here. Reinstall WP, Prophoto? Some hep would be great!

  • First, you should know that WordPress is designed to work best from one address at a time, so if you need the nicoleleephotos.com domain to point at the Blogger site while you work on the WordPress setup, a ‘temp address’ might be more suitable. I believe this is explained here:
    http://www.prophoto.com/support/switch-hosting/ (Step 2)
So, using a temp address at GoDaddy might be your best move, forget the forwarding stuff for now.

Second, you should know that you get tech support from ProPhoto, and might want to contact here:
    http://www.prophoto.com/contact/
