Popularity Contest and 2.5.1

Since search is currently borked on the forum, I’ll have to just ask about this in a new post. Sorry if the answer is already there.

I was using Popularity Contest and JAW Popular Posts to run a list of the most read posts in my sidebar. It worked great.

Then I upgraded WP from 2.2 to 2.5.1 and now when I try to activate Popularity Contest I get an error saying Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error. I have been to the website and downloaded and installed the most current version of the plugin.

Any ideas how I can fix this? Or suggestions about a different widget I can use to do the same thing?
