I made a page for users to edit their membership info using the short codes.

When I checked it in both preview mode and live, the text input boxes for all of the editable info look fine. However the text inside is so squished that you cannot see what you type. It almost looks like dashes. I tried deleting the text and retyping it and had the same result.

The theme I’m using is Customizr and I have the most recent update of WP.

  • Could this be a system font issue, perhaps with Helvetica? I feel like I’ve seen that before. Does it do the same in another browser?

You’re right! It does only appear to be an issue in firefox.

Wow, I’m slipping. Cross browser issues are usually the first thing I check.

I tried changing my font and font size, but there was no difference. I used both Times New Roman and Arial. Font sizes: 10, 12, and 16.

The issue you mentioned sounds like the padding for inputs tags. Essentially, you have some compatibility issues between your themes’s defined styles and what is being inherited in the plugin’s stylesheet.

I would suggest trying a different stylesheet or producing your own. There is more information on customizing the forms (either by CSS or otherwise) here.

Hi Chad, thanks for replying! You’re right. Changing the style sheet to “2014 theme no float” did the trick. Thank you!

I didn’t know there were multiple style sheets and that we could change between them like that. Good to know. Thanks again!
